In the months following the announcement of her engagement to Prince Harry, Meghan Markle has had several royal firsts: her first official event, her first public curtsy to the Queen, and now, her first Commonwealth Day service, the annual celebration of the Commonwealth of Nations at Westminster Abbey.
For the occasion, she chose a cream colored coat and dress by a very British brand, Amanda Wakeley. She coordinated with navy heels and a navy Mulberry bag, which she held as a clutch. Her fascinator is by Stephen Jones, reports Rebecca English, the royal correspondent for the Daily Mail.
The Crombie coat retails for $1,199 on Wakeley's website. The coat comes in black and midnight blue as well. The bag is the Small Darley and costs $675.
Designer Amanda Wakeley founded her brand in 1990, and Princess Diana was an early client. Markle's future sister-in-law Kate has worn Amanda Wakeley designs on several occasions.
Markle and Prince Harry will be married on May 19 in St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.
